Frequently Asked Questions
Room, Garden View FAQs
What does the Garden View room at Mahekal Beach Front Resort & Spa look out on?
This room faces the resort's garden side rather than the sea, and it is reached along an exterior corridor. It suits guests who plan to spend their days on the beach, at the pools and in the restaurants and want a comfortable base at a lower price point.
What is the bathroom like?
The private bathroom has a rainfall showerhead and a hair dryer. Soap, shampoo, toilet paper and towels are supplied, and towels are changed on request.
Is this room a good choice for families, couples or a longer stay?
Mahekal is not an adults-only resort, and this room's two queen beds suit a family of four or two couples travelling together. Many guests are couples and adult travellers, and the resort has no kids' club or water park. Families tend to gather at Agave Bar and its game room in the evenings. In-room childcare is available for a surcharge. Daily housekeeping, an espresso maker, a minibar and a desk make a longer stay comfortable.
What comforts and conveniences are in the room?
Expect air conditioning, a ceiling fan and blackout drapes for cool, dark sleeping. You also get an espresso maker, a minibar, a desk with a chair, free local calls and guidebooks for planning your days. Turndown service and limited-hours room service are available as well.
What is included with the stay, and what costs extra?
A daily Resort Fee of USD 35 (including 16% VAT) applies to all bookings. It covers unlimited bicycle use, beach and pool towels, resort-wide Wi-Fi and refreshments in the relaxation areas. Guests on the All-Inclusive plan also have resort dining and drinks plus round-trip airport transportation. Revive Spa treatments are an extra-cost add-on.
Is the Wi-Fi good enough for streaming and working?
Complimentary Wi-Fi reaches the whole resort, with wired and wireless connections in the rooms. The free basic tier suits email and photos. A paid premium tier offers higher speeds for streaming or gaming.
Which restaurants and bars can I use during my stay?
The resort has three restaurants and three bars or lounges. Fuego Restaurant & Cantina is the flagship, cooking over zapote wood fire, and dinner there requires a reservation. Las Olas serves buffet breakfast and dinner. Cocina is a buffet with no reservation needed. Agave Bar is the social hub, open 4:00 pm to midnight. Hours vary by season and weather, so the team can confirm them before you arrive.
Is the resort noisy, and what should I know before arriving?
Guests may occasionally hear music from DJ festivals held at nearby properties. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by noon. The front desk is open 24 hours, and guests arriving after 5:00 PM are asked to contact the resort in advance. A major credit card and photo ID are required at check-in, and the main guest must be at least 18. Most restaurants and bars are cashless, and the resort does not run a local shuttle, though the concierge can arrange transportation to Riviera Maya attractions.
